Kingfisher B&B farmstay

This bed and breakfast is a modern open plan one-bedroom unit with ensuite.
Wake to the sound of bellbird. Indulge in a breakfast of homemade bread, farm made jams,
cereals, fresh seasonal fruit, teas or fresh brewed coffee from your own coffee machine.
Fresh free-range farm eggs may also be available.
 
The living space has a comfortable sofa where you can sit back and take in
the view of bush-clad hill past pohutakawa, beech and cabbage tree.
Pop a slice of toast, brew a tea or make a fresh cappuccino in the kitchenette area while
 taking in the view across the paddock, up past the kanuka to the top of Harbour Cone above.
 
Stroll down to the inlet at the gate or wander over the farm to watch for white faced heron,
paradise shelduck, pukeko, tui, pigeon and of course New Zealand kingfisher.
Sit out in your own cottage garden walled with local basalt rock and take a rest after visiting
the free-range hens, the Wiltshire cross lambs or the Dexter cows and their calves.
 
Start up the barbeque as the birds settle for the evening or pop over to Portobello
to sample the restaurant fare, a pub meal or the best chips in the south.
Finish a refreshing day snuggled up in your cosy bed.
