'CLIFTON' - A farm steeped in history
was first settled in 1863, hewn from the bush covered hills by our pioneering ancestors.
|
|
The present owners, Ian and Pat Robertson, could be regarded as modern day pioneers
- establishing in 1974 -
the coloured sheep flock which has become part of the Peninsula scene.
|
|
We have developed the Romney Based Flock to produce top quality fleece in many shades.
Our colour range is black, charcoal, pale grey, light and dark brown, and some multi-colour.

A visit to Clifton Wool 'N' Things is a unique experience.
'A fascinating wool shop with a great atmosphere -the best in NZ-' is the way our shop is described by our many local and overseas visitors.

Drive down to our Farm Shop between historic stone walls, - built by our pioneering ancestors -
past beautiful natural coloured sheep in the paddocks, to find the barn filled with fleeces
and carded wool for spinning, knitting yarns, a great selection of jerseys, adults and children,
- all handknitted from our lovely wools, and many handwoven items
